Our First Post

I thought I would start a blog since keeping a journal has been a struggle for me and I fail to put in writing what is going on in our lives! This is the first post to the Brad and Alane Clark blog. I am hoping that people can check here to keep up with what is going on in our lives.

We recently finished fixing up the front yard by taking out the remaining trees in the front yard. Last year (2006) we took out the olive trees. There were two of them and they were messy and huge. This year we took out the 2 40 year old pine trees that were next to the driveway. Brad rented a manlift and Steven steered it while Brad cut branches. At one point Steven climbed out of the lift and into the very top of the tree. It is 65 feet high! Yikes. Over three stories high in the air and Steven is balancing on the top branch. It was a good thing I was not home. Matt helped throw branches in the dumpster as well as Dave Huntsman and his wife Mary. Also Dave's son came and helped. Dave cut the branches on the ground and took all of the logs he wanted away. It was great to have their help. You should have seen when the trees came down with such a thump.

Brad's mom and step-dad flew in to Vegas after being in Indiana to help Brad's brother during an illness and she even got into the manlift and went up.

Now the yard has three new trees and some bushes and rock. No grass. The backyard has nice grass for the dogs.
